I choose “Bryant’s & Friends”, 2 locations 1 in miami & the second one in Atlanta. A female halfway house. Helps with job oppurtunites, money management, etc. Instructions believe is really questions based on the facility, you can make that up.
Final Special Project/Research Paper: This paper HAS NO PAGE LIMIT HOWEVER, HOWEVER, THERE MUST BE the references page, on a topic inspired by OUTSIDE RESEARCH AND chapters covered in the text. The special project for this course is to create an original (your own) community based correctional program. You will take the knowledge you have gained from the text regarding style, structure, programs, and management of a community based facility. Think of the CBC facility as a facility you will operate as a full time operation. You will need to think about and examine all components of what it means to have a successful CBC facility. The principal design of your newly created facility must include the following key elements, but also clearly show that it includes the impact of different supervision practices in CBC as a cause for optimism
purpose pf your facility;
mission statement;
the make-up of faculty and staffing;
location and budget;
governmental control level (state, federal, local to include private)
describe the programs that will be part of your CBC;
how long can each client stay at your facility;
are children allowed to stay with the client; what relationship is necessary;
who are the clients your CBC is designed to serve (age, race, gender, sexual identity, sexual orientation, medical issues, etc.);
identify other agencies/volunteers that may be involved in the success of your programs (local mental health agency, educational facilities, religious groups, etc.)
programs’ expectations;
what are any restrictions for clients such as curfew, alcohol, conjugal visitations, allowed personal items, allowed currency, etc.
identify at least three consequences for rule violations;
what do realistic/successful outcomes look like for the clients at your agency;;
what are foreseeable challenges for your CBC and clients;
how are you addressing foreseeable challenges;
what are the short-term of your CBC
what are the long-term goals of your CBC;
defend your choices made concerning your facility;
what are at least two US Supreme Court ruling addressing your agency;
identify three states where that have similar facilities
list five credible research sources for your project (don’t forget references must be in APA format. And NOT from social media, Wikipedia or Oyez. Newspaper articles from credible sources such as Chicago Tribune, Washington Post, etc. may be used. If in doubt, please ask the instructor before using the source. )
The deadline date for this project is November 21, 2022 in D2L no later than 3:00pm. LATE WORK IS NOT ACCEPTED. If you have questions or concerns, feel free to email me at jmyers@atlm.edu so we can schedule a time to discuss. Again, there is NO required page limit for this report. However, as a senior level class it is expected to meet all applicable criteria as set forth in the American Psychological Association (APA) Style Guide. Students are HIGHLY encouraged to provide a final product that is thought-provoking.
THE TPYE OF FACITITY MUST BE APPROVED BY THE PROFESSOR NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 11, 2022, at 11:59 pm and must adhere to an APA format (https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/): APA title page, APA reference page, proper APA citations, free from grammar/spelling errors: A PAPER WHOSE TOPIC IS NOT APPROVED BY THE INSTRUCTOR WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Please do not wait until the last minute to get your topic approved. If your topic is not approved by the deadline date, you will lose 10 points from the final paper.
Avoid pronouns (for example: he, she, it, they, them);
Avoid contractions (NOT: can’t, USE: cannot);
NEVER use the word ‘but’ (when you use ‘but’ you state the information before ‘but’ is irrelevant and only what occurs after ‘but’ is meaningful — not true — it is possible for two contradictory ideas to exist at the same time);
NEVER use slang or text message words;
Have someone, not in the program, to read your assignments and provide feedback prior to turning your assignment to the professor through D2L.
This suggestion will help to identify grammar/spelling errors as well as assist with clarity of your work to ensure your work flows and reads well.
You will provide your analysis (NOT opinion) of the assignment’s relevance to today, and issues occurring in today’s society.
DO NOT use these phrases: I think, I believe, in my opinion, my belief … or ANY variation of these phrases. Those are opinion/commentary phrases and have no room in an analysis of the text. Think broadly, outside of your comfort zone.
Your analysis should be written in a manner such that you are teaching the professor and NOT with an assumption the professor is familiar with the subject matter. You are HIGHLY encouraged to provide a thought-provoking, qualitative analysis;
