Archaeology of a Contemporary Room

The Assignment:You clear away the last layer of plow zone, delicately sweeping the dirt into your dustpanwith a straw whisk. Dumping the dirt into the bucket, you hand it up to a crewmember, stand up,stretch, and climb out of the pit. Standing now on the edge of the excavation, clipboard in hand,you prepare to note the feature before you. Yes, it is definitely a room, but what kind of room?What took place here? What kind of people used this room and for what activities? Puttingpencil to paper, you get to work while the light is still good.Your task for this assignment is to select one (1) room where you live and analyze it withan archaeological eye. You must take stock of everything that is in the room, the placement offurniture, the arrangement of objects, the dimensions of the room itself, etc.; however, like allarchaeological sites, your archaeological record is incomplete. The room that you haveuncovered has undergone average preservation conditions. As such, all that remains for yourconsideration are objects made from stone, glass, ceramic, metal, or plastic. Anythingorganically-derived in the selected room has not preserved by the time of your excavation and, assuch, cannot be used in your analysis. This means that any cloth, paper (including cardboard),leather, wood (including particle board), food, or wax cannot be considered. 

The Specifics:Please write a 2-page (12-pt font, double-spaced) archaeological report detailing the room thatyou have come across archaeologically.Your report should indicate the following: Objects / artifacts recovered (what objects have preserved and remained in yourroom) Hypotheses on activities that took place within the room Hypotheses on the individual(s) who may have lived in or used the room References to how you came to the conclusions that comprise your hypotheseso Example: I hypothesize that this room served as a space for cooking andpreparing meals because I recovered artifacts that speak to the presence ofcooking and preparing meals, such as 

PLEASE ALSO INCLUDE AND APPENDIX ; this does not count as part of your 2 pages. This is where you put your evidence, including a table of measurements of objects youfound. If you want to, you can include photographs of the objects that survived or asketch Of the objects/room layout.

I’ve attached a sample essay on how it shoukd look but the difference is only two pages and third page should include the appendix.
