Gordon Rule Term Paper Instructions

 Minimum requirements for college-level writing:

1. The writing has a clearly defined thesis or central idea.2. The writing includes adequate evidence to support the thesis or idea. 3. The writing reflects the awareness of the conventions of standard written English such as grammar, punctuation, spelling and word usage. 4. The writing uses clear and logical organization.5. The writing demonstrates the ability to synthesize and apply discipline content at the course-specific level.

 All writing assignments must be the students’ original, independently produced work. Writing assignments used to fulfill the Gordon Rule requirement are those that include evidence of analysis, comparison, interpretation, or other critical thinking applications. 

Directions: For this paper, you will focus on answering the following question: What is psychology? After researching different sources, you will then synthesize your findings & ideas. Your paper should include the following sections:

•Introduction: Introduce your readers to your topic. This is your chance to  grasp the reader’s attention. Make sure to also include a thesis statement•What is Psychology: In this section, you will support your ideas with research (in-text citations). •Different Types of Psychology: Include all of the different types of psychology. Explain what each branch entails. What makes them different? What makes them similar? What are some of the different sectors/environments that psychologists work in? Which one would you like to explore more if given the chance to work in the field?•Different Types of Therapy: Include the different types of therapy offered. What are some similarities? What are the differences? Who founded which therapy style? Which one would you use if you were a psychologist, on what kind of patient would you use it, and why?•Conclusion: This section will summarize your paper. No new information should be in this section.•References: Include your sources in APA style. The reference section has its own page.  

Your paper must contain the following:Cover Page.,  Reference Page (Please note that the cover page + reference page go on separate pages) Plagiarism must be less than 10% A Printed rubric stapled to the back of your paper upon submission  APA Format A minimum of 5 references are required (1- textbook, 3 Peer-reviewed articles, 1- Writer’s choice) Due Date: 11/11/2021 at 6:30PM.Word Count Requirement: 1,500 words (usually 4 pages double spaced)
