1. On paper, write a draft of the letter to Carl to thank
him for the donation. Include a short description of how the money will be used
to purchase new computers for the animation program. Mention how these new
computers will assist students to develop cutting edge skills. 2. Determine the
location of variable information in Carls letter and assign placeholders for
the merge field names. 3. Open the file Case1_04.docx located in the Project.04
folder included with your Data Files, and then save the document as Thank You
Form Letter in the same folder. 4. Based on your draft letter to Carl, edit the
thank you letter and include placeholders for variable information. 5. Open the
Mail Merge task pane, and then create a data source that contains only the
field names you need for your letter. 6. Enter information for Carl Beauville
and one other donor. 7. Save the data source as Thank You Form Letter Data, add
field names to the document, review the letters, and then make adjustments to
the main document and data source if necessary. 8. Save the merged document as
Thank You Form Letter Merged, print a copy of the two letters, and then in the
main document, deselect Preview Letters and save and close the document.
