This next Hamlet Module only concerns three scenes, but they’re all very important ones, and one of them is really long.

Comprehend and appreciate the next assigned chunk of Hamlet (2.1, 2.2, 3.1) and intelligently discuss the most important and interesting questions raised by this section of the play.
This second Hamlet Module concerns Act 2, scene 1; Act 2, scene 2; and Act 3, scene 1 (or “2.1, 2.2, and 3.1” for short — the decimal thing refers to Act/scene numbers, in case anyone hadn’t figured that out yet; sorry if it was confusing before). 
My lecture videos on those three scenes are below.  You should read a scene on your own before watching my video, so that you already know what I’m talking about in it.  I realize the reading may be challenging for some of you, but if you keep your questions in mind, my videos should clear them up.  If there’s anything you still don’t get, that’s what the Discussion Boards are for!
You should have your own copy of Hamlet by now, but if you don’t, then links to good online texts of the play are included back in the Module 12 folder.
I might also mention that, although you still also have to read it, there is nothing wrong with watching a movie of Hamlet as well.  After all, this is a play, not a novel, so Shakespeare did intend for people to see it performed!  I think the 1996 version directed by Kenneth Branagh, starring Branagh himself as Hamlet and Kate Winslet as Ophelia (plus a bunch of other people you will recognize), is the best one — it is long, but that’s because it is the only movie version of Hamlet that doesn’t cut out anything.  You can find it on Netflix or Prime.
