The student will create an argumentative essay in APA format on a topic chosen by the student relevant to the class content.  Argumentative essays should consist of five paragraphs (a minimum of five hundred words) structured as follows.

An introductory paragraph that:

Demonstrates relevance of the topic.
Presents a clear statement of intent.

Three paragraphs containing points to support the statement of intent that:

Are well-researched using primary and secondary sources. 
Qualitative and quantitative data supporting the statement of intent that is well-researched

Using primary and secondary scholarly sources

A conclusion paragraph that:  

Restates the statement of intent.
Summarizes the main points.
Connects the significance of the main points.
Reaches a conclusion.

Your journal should use a minimum of three scholarly sources. One of those sources can be the textbook. See the attached file for the grading rubric.
