Electronic Health Record Newsletter

You are the EHR Champion for Midwest Hospital, a medium-size suburban Chicago facility. The Board of Directors has just approved funding for a long-term project that will replace the existing electronic health record.  The new system will have enhanced interoperability,  connecting the hospital, physician offices, and knowledge databases at the nearby University of Illinois Library of the Medical Sciences.  Selected portions of the record will also be available to patients thru an API on their smart phones. Your challenge is to educate and convince the physicians of the importance of moving forward with the project.
 Many of the physicians like things the way weve always done it. Comments such as it takes too much time away from my patients; I dont have time to learn a computer system”  are common. As part of your plan, you decide to publish a monthly newsletter for the medical and hospital staff members, updating them on the project.  Include objectives that would be part of the institution’s revised information management plan, and a new mission statement that incorporates the new strategic vision.  Also include excerpts of articles and testimonials from successful implementations, and a potential timeline for the implementation.

Instructions:
Create a two-page edition of this newspaper. Use 2 column format, single spaced, 12 point font. Itshould look like a newsletter, with a banner/heading across the top with a title, name of facility, etc. It is better to have several smaller articles broken up with subheadings, rather than one long article.   You may include one graphic, taking up no more than column. Pay close attention to grammar and spelling.  Although you may reference other sources, this should be written in your own words. Citations should be on a separate page in addition to the two pages of the newsletter.
