Goggles as an Artifact for Swimming discourse Community

Please go through the file and view the document there about editing this essay that was already written it just needs more imrovements such as more of my experience in the story about swimming because this is a research and personal narrative at the same time. Here are other directions as well, 

Essay Overview
This semester we have been discussing the various Discourses we are members of and how they inform our identities. This essay asks that you begin your own exploration of a Secondary Discourse community by choosing one artifact (object) that is representative of a Discourse community you are a member of (or hope to be a member of) and performing a rhetorical and discourse analysis of it.
To do this, you will first select a Secondary Discourse community you are a member of and select one artifact that represents the discourse community (like a shirt, video on YouTube, a guidebook, skateboard, guitar, etc.). Then write a 4-5 page essay that analyzes the artifact from a rhetorical and discoursal perspective. Consider both how the artifact fits within the community as well as why and how well it represents the Discourse community.
Additionally, you should do a little bit of research to find some written, video, or audio resources to help you write more effectively about how your artifact fits within the Secondary Discourse. You will need to find two resources to support your analysis.
To write this essay, you should

Introduce and describe the artifact, providing a physical description and contextual background. Your readers might not know what this thing is or what it looks like.
Describe the Secondary Discourse community. Name the community and discuss how it is a Discourse (shared beliefs, values, language, ways of doing/being, etc.) Also explain the features of the Discourse and how it shapes your identity.
Explain how the artifact fits within the Discourse community

Use at least two resources (written, video, audio)
Make a claim and support it using evidence (your research and experience)

Analyze the artifact considering the following questions (note: you do not have to answer all the questions, they are simply guides to help you get started)

How does the artifact create meaning?
What does it signify?
How would others read the object? Why?
What knowledge is required to understand it?
What is the function/goal of the artifact?
