T The goal of this paper is to relate communication concepts discussed in class and in your textbook to a movie of your choice.  Specifically, you will choose a movie to watch and analyze 2 separate concepts as they relate to the movie.
But whats a concept?  A concept can be any theory, guideline, term, or major idea as discussed in class or in the text.  Some examples: 
Sender/receiver the sender would be the speaker. The receiver would be the group or whoever is interpreting the message. 
Message and channel the message is the words. The channel is how the message travels between the sender and receiver. 
Hearing vs listening  hearing is Physiological, involuntary process of perceiving sound. Listening is Multidimensional process of recognizing, understanding, accurately interpreting, and responding effectively to the messages you hear.
Self fulfilling prophecy – 
Self concept  who you think you are. 
Process of perception  the process in which sounds are heard, interpreted, and understood. 
Nonverbal communication  the process of internationally or unintentionally signaling meaning through behavior other than words. 
 
Logistics:  You should write 3 pages, typed, double-spaced, in 12 point Times New Roman or Arial font, one inch margins on all sides.  
 Your paper should include the following:

A brief synopsis of the movie (no more than page!)
An explanation/description and analysis of the concepts youve chosen to explore
A discussion of how the concepts are applied in the movie (making sure to discuss specific scenes or storylines).
