Ali understands that today’s competitive environment requires professional expertise to sustain in the business. Right after assuming the role of Director – Human Resources, Ali has observed various areas that need improvement. For example, most of the HR policies are either unwritten or vague. Hence decisions related to various HR functions; like hiring, salary increments, performance, promotion etc. are taken based on the situation and as per judgment of CEO. Ali realizes that a massive cultural shift shall be required to change the whole HR landscape. Employee development initiatives are rare, rather not encouraged, resultantly, the employee turn-over rate is considerably high, the Company is not a preferred choice of good business/engineering graduates either.
