The Module Pre-Assessment is your opportunity to practice applying module content before submitting the final Competency Assessment. In the Final Assessment, you will be asked to prepare responses to three different scenarios as an expert in the field of healthcare consultancy and a graduate of the Master in Healthcare Administration program.
To prepare for Part 2 of your Final Assessment, consider why a hospital is different than a nuclear power plan or a commercial airplane as it relates to achieving the same quality levels as high-reliability organizations. Then, reflect on the challenges related to ensuring quality and safety standards in hospitals. Finally, think about how hospitals can achieve the same quality levels as high-reliability organizations.
To prepare for Part 3 of your Final Assessment, consider the differences and similarities between the JC and DNV surveys and think about how you might summarize those similarities and differences.
To prepare for Part 4 of your Final Assessment, consider how, as a debate participant, you would define the concept of transparency in the healthcare system. Next, reflect on the primary benefits and drawbacks of transparency in the healthcare system. Finally, think about whether the benefits of transparency in the healthcare system outweigh the drawbacks and whether transparency creates more informed healthcare consumers, lead to more questions or both. Be sure to consider the rationale for why you believe as you do.
