Your op-ed must be a minimum of 1000 words in length.
The op-ed will address an issue which impacts marginalized communities (i.e. housing, gendered violence, police brutality, educational equity, COVID, environmental justice, media representation, etc.) and it must be an issue that is current.
You must cite at least 1 separate readings from class and 3 different media sources that you find in your research and provide a citation.
Your op-ed must have a headline and a call to action. (This does not count towards your 1000 word op-ed)
Op-ed must have a specific audience and a publication you are targeting (i.e. school newsletter, New York Times, etc.) (This does not count towards your 1000 word op-ed)
Your op-ed will be evaluated based on the quality of your argument, understanding of the topic, how well you are able to use class materials and your call to action.
Feel free to add art and pull quotes to your op-ed (optional).
