Behavior modification 
Identify one behavior that you would like to keep going or increase the frequency of the behavior (i.e. I would like to exercise more). 

Choose one positive reinforcer and explain how you would use positive reinforcement to increase the frequency of your behavior. 
Is your positive reinforcer a primary reinforcer or a secondary reinforcer? Please explain.
Choose one schedule of reinforcement (fixed-ratio, variable ratio, fixed-interval, or variable-interval) and explain how you would use that schedule of reinforcement to change your behavior.
What are some of the barriers that you may encounter while trying to change the behavior? What can you suggest to overcome these barriers?

Example
Eating healthier. I will reward myself $5 for every three times I eat healthy. You will need to, of course, expand on the definition of positive reinforcement (need to cite sources in your textbook) and explain how you are using positive reinforcement.
My reinforcer in the example is money. Explain whether money is primary or secondary. As you can see from the example, I am using a fixed ratio schedule. Need to explain why it’s fixed ratio and why your example is fixed ratio. Again, you need to explain these key terms (cite the book) and weave in your example with the concepts.
With your explanation of the key terms / concepts and how it ties in with your examples, you paper should be 1-2 pages long (without a header). 
Guidelines and formatting 

You need to include cites in your paper Do not use outside sources – all sources for each question can be found in your textbook.
Citing the source from an e-book

Example 1: Author’s last name, Year, Subsection, then paragraph # (Nevid, 2000, Ch 4.3, P11)
Example 2: Author’s last name, Year, Subsection, header, paragraph # (Nevid, 2000, Ch. 4.3, Theories of Hypnosis, P3) 

Avoid anecdotal evidence or opinion and do not directly quote from the book. Paraphrase the content in your own words and cite them!

Hint: if you’re stringing 4 words directly from the source, it’s plagiarism!

Start the paper with your response and do not include the question or a header. 

Each paper should be 1-2 pages long. Points will be deducted if you submit a paper that is not a full page.
12 point font size, Times New Roman, double-spaced with 1-inch margins
Do not include your name, date, or class – no header is needed since the submission will be on Canvas.

Submit as a word document or pdf – no other files will be accepted.

After you submit your paper, reopen your file through Canvas to ensure that your file is not corrupt. If you submit a corrupt file on Canvas, you will not be able open the file and neither will I. You will receive a 0 if you submit a corrupted file or a late paper.
Points will be deducted if you attach the file in the comments section rather than upload it on Canvas using Turnitin

The final grade for each paper will reflect your ability to incorporate all of the sections listed here.  Points will be deducted if you do not follow the guidelines listed above.
