ESSAY: Life After 9/11
9/11 was one of the deadliest day inthe United States. On the 11th, September of 2001, the terrorist hijackedfour planes in America, causing much tension and destroying the lives of overtwo thousand people by airplane crashes. The terrorist was from Arabic Nationsled by the Al-Qaida group. It was not clear how the terrorist managed to getinto four airplanes before they took off, but the 19 militants managed to getin with knives they used to hijack the planes and control them (Brown). Thehijackers managed to carry out a suicide attack on the targets in America asall four planes were crashed. On this most frightening and deadliest day, theUnited States President, President George W. Bush, declared the fight to allterrorists, claiming that the terrorist had no power to control America(Malley). It is a day of history where terrorists managed to accomplish theirintention of killing a large population on a single day.  The United States government was shocked tohave such terrorist attacked running successfully within their territories.President George W. Bush was in Florida in the morning when the first planescrashed but had to return to the white house and declared a more intensivefight against the terrorist attacks from the Muslims of Arabs (Brown).  The terrorism attack steered the battles, andthe United States put more effort into looking for the mastermind leader andfounder of the deadly Algaeda terrorist group, Osama Bin Laden.
9/11 means a lot to me. Individually,this was an alarm to awaken the world on the seriousness of the need to fightterrorism. It also told us that not all our neighbors can be trusted and helpful;some have bad intentions of fighting and killing us in the future. This wasshowed as terrorists lived within the communities of Americans. Some of the 19militants stayed in American and even managed to sneak in knives in the airportwithout noticing. I tend to worry a lot about how some people can destroy theirlives as long as they have accomplished what they need. For the heartless andcruel terrorists, destroying other people’s lives was something to celebrate tothe extent of accepting to die with them. The day became remorseful to thefamilies who lost their loved ones in the plain crushes. It could have happenedthat members of one family used the planes, implying that all died in a singleday. I sympathize with them and feel very remorseful, though it teaches me tostay alert and responsible in life to avoid causing death to innocent colleagues.
 Historical events like 9/11 affect our dailylives and focus. We learned that one should not be comfortable at their state,and everything might not be okay or friendly to use. We learned how tosocialize, the importance of personal security, and building a happy mutualinterdependence. Furthermore, we tend to change the way we utilize resourcesand valuing what we own today. Investing in education is helpful so that welearn about security activities and live in harmony and togetherness amongourselves. A historic event shapes our knives and perception towards ourfriends. It tells us how miserable our lives can be when we ignore theimportance of togetherness, friendship, and caring. We should be ready todestroy others lives just like terrorists can but learn not to revenge ourcolleagues when they wrong us. I have feared traveling to study or work incountries that are in threat of terrorist attacks. Countries that have hadrecent fights either internationally or within the countries are not very safe.I only travel to more safe countries and am not in conflict with any terrorgroup as I fear being a victim if such occurrences happen. This has limited mystudy life as I have developed a fear of traveling to far countries for studiesor work. Flying using international planes, with many people in it, is somethingI fear the most. Terrorists are interested in attacking a large group of peopleat once, so engaging in such groups puts our lives at risk of becoming aterrorist target.
Lifein America would not have been the way it is now if 9/11 had not happened.  There was a hit by two hijacked planed in theformer Twin Tower during the era, which interfered with communication. It wasimpossible to communicate as the crushed affected the cell phone services inthe area (Lee) effectively. There were no cellphones to video call what washappening.  After the 9/11 terroristattack, there have been substantial developments in technology in America.America has improved its ways of transmitting messages by significantlytelecommunication network, preparedness to handle disasters, improvement insecurity levels, and personal privacy. The technology has faced newadvancements, and people can now communicate globally by using tweeteraccounts, personal emails, and video calls.  American has developed new ways of detectingterrorism to initiate early attacks killing a mass of people. Today, digitalwebsites and other social media platforms like Facebook have improvedtogetherness and efficient communication, which was not the case in 2001.People have learned new ways of developing themselves, and useful ideas can beshared globally quickly. Technology has ensured improvements in our everydaylives.
