Overview:
Once your literature review has uncovered a problem,you need to come up with a clear and succinct statement of the problem, anoverarching purpose for the DNP group projects/your project, and veryspecific aims for your study. The specific aim of your study NEED NOT solve theproblembut only move the needle in the direction of the solution. 
Purpose:
The purpose ofthe assignment is to clearly articulate the clinical problem.  The problem statement logically follows asynthesis of the relevant literature on the topic and the significance of thattopic as described in the literature. The problem statement can be up to three sentences. Think of the problemstatement as what is the issue that needs to be addressed. 
Once theproblem has been stated, the overarching purpose and specific aims must bestated.  The overarching purpose shouldbe one sentence.  Each specific aim shouldbe stated in one sentence and must be measurable. You will need to consider thestatistical analysis that you will be targeting to develop your results.
Rememberthisis a DRAFT document! You need to develop a submission where the basic format iscorrect, however it is possible that you change your measured variables as theproject unfolds, and thereby need to change your specific aim(s).
 
Assignment Overview
For thisassignment, you are expected to draft a statement of the problem, theoverarching purpose, and the specific aims for your project.  The identified problem should stem from theliterature which supports the clinical problem you have identified.  You should then identify the overarchingpurpose and REALISTIC specific measurable aims of the proposed study. (Assumethat you will have between 20 and 40 subjects for your study.)
General Problem statement:
There aremultiple barriers that providers face in vaccinating patients according to CDCand professional organization guidelines.
 
More specific:
There aremultiple barriers that women’s healthcare providers face in vaccinatingpregnant patients according to CDC and ACOG guidelines.
 
Specific Aim (must be measurable):
The primaryaim of my project is to identify two major bariers to vaccination of pregnantpaients for providers who work in an urban OB/GYN clinic.
 
 
Process:

3)     BRIEF EXAMPLE:
Problem statement: Flucontinues to be a major contributor to morbidity and mortality in the UnitedStates, with peak incidence during the winter months. Flu is a particularproblem among health care providers, as sickness during the winter monthssignificantly impacts the December holiday and vacation schedule.
Overarching purpose: Theoverarching purpose of this study is to develop methods to incentivizehealthcare providers to reduce their risk of flu, so that there is minimaldisruption in the December holiday work schedule.
Specific Aim 1: Thefirst specific aim of this project is to examine the rate of flu disease betweenhealth care providers who did and did not receive the annual flu vaccination in2020.  I will use a t-test analysis to examinethe relationship between the incidence of flu (comparison of rates) betweenthese groups.
Specific Aim 2: The secondspecific aim of this project is to examine the association betweenemployer-provided vaccination in 2020 and flu vaccination in 2020 in healthcareproviders.  I will use Chi Squareanalysis to examine if there is a relationship between employer-providedvaccination (categorical: yes/no) and flu vaccination (categorical: yes/no).

IMPORTANT CONSIDERATION for preparing the final assignment: Theproblems surrounding vaccination is a moving target.  While surveyingproviders about the barriers and facilitators of their own vaccination may havebeen important 6 months ago, most providers are now fully vaccinated (by way ofpolicy, if not by choice) and asking these questions is “water under thebridge.”  Your projects are going to be carried out in 2022, whenthis line of questioning will be even MORE outdated.  
I highly recommending “shifting”your problem statement and specific aim toward a PROVIDER SURVEY of thebarriers and facilitators to vaccinating their patients. (There willbe many opportunities to update your Background and Significance section, sodont worry about updating this now, as more healthcare changes are bound tounfold!)  For example, pregnant people who contract COVID-19 are broadlyrecognized to be at increased risk for adverse pregnancy outcomes, pretermbirth, mechanical ventilation, and death.  Despite CDC recommendation andunequivocally endorsement of COVID-19 vaccination in pregnant women by majorprofessional organizations (e.g., ACOG) by summer 2021, just 26 percent ofpregnant Americans have currently been vaccinated, placing this populationamong the nation’s most hesitant to vaccinate (CDC, Oct 9,2021).  It would be great to know WHAT the different challenges are frompopulation to population, from the viewpoint of providers that work withdifferent populations of patients.
