Critical thought papers must be 2–3 pages in length, double spaced, size 12 font, 1–inch margins,Times New Roman. Students will choose one of the assigned articles for that week to work withfor each paper.Students will provide a brief summary of the article, consisting of no more than 1 paragraph ofsummary. Students will then provide a thoughtful critique of an aspect of the reading. This canrelate to the theoretical framework, research question, research design, measurements,implications, applications, etc. Critique of the article needs to be conceptual (about the research),rather than about the writing form, style, or layout. Students will then propose one detailedfuture direction for research in this field. The proposed future direction must include clear andexplained justification and relevant expectations for the proposed direction. The summary shouldbe no more than one paragraph (5–8 sentences) and the remainder of the paper should bedistributed evenly between critique and proposal (approximately one page for each section).Students are expected to cite either lecture OR one of the textbooks as well as the selectedarticle. Students are expected to cite using APA format. Questions about additional sources andAPA should be directed to the teaching assistants.
