Students will develop a56-page paper in APA format that assesses quality outcomes related to patientcare.
Nurse leadership requires continuous review of patient careto effectively assure quality of care and patient safety. In reviewing patientcare, instances will arise that require deliberate focus and attention toresolve the patient care issue. Such a review process involves the followingsteps:
1.Identify the quality concern
2.Provide a review of professional and/or nationalguidelines applicable to the quality issue
 3.Review theliterature to determine statistical significance and proposed action plans toaddress the concern
 4.Develop a specificaction plan to address resolution
 5.Define an expectedoutcome to achieve success in resolution of the quality issue/concern.6.Determine the most appropriate type of audit and audit process withexplanation of why that type and process are the best to use for evaluation ofthis quality concern
 7.Devise anevaluation period that supports the time needed to reach the expected outcome.For this assignment:
1. Choose one of the following quality concerns: a. Falls or b. Pressureulcers or c. Hand Hygiene or d. Infection
2.Taking your chosen quality concern: Identify any professionaland/or national standards, guidelines or recommendations that address thisconcern. Use a minimum of one of these organizations: American Organization ofNurse Executive (AONE) standards, guiding principles or guidelines; Center forDisease Control (CDC); National Patient Safety Goals established by the JointCommission, or any other professional organization with interest in this qualityconcern.
3. Review the literature to determine the statisticalsignificance of the concern and any proposed action plans authors shared toaddress possible resolution of your quality concern. Provide a paraphrasedsummary of least 2 literature or research articles applicable to the qualityissue.
4.Define a realistic and feasible expected outcome you want toachieve to show successful resolution of the issue.
5.Propose a specific action plan to address resolution of thisissue.
6. Devise an evaluationperiod that will give sufficient time to reach your desired expected outcome.
