Data Plan

1) Show a sample of the secondary dataset(s) you will use (a screen capture is fine) or a draft of the vehicle you will use to acquire original data.
2) Describe what you will do to analyze the data. Remember, your analysis must be original. Data analysis is the process of systematically applying statistical and/or logical techniques to describe and illustrate, condense and recap, and evaluate data. Techniques may include sums, differences, averages, correlation, distribution, skew, compare/contrast, spatial comparison, etc. It is not enough to simply summarize the data someone else collected.
3) Discuss or provide a sample of the graphical representation you will use in your paper to summarize results, i.e. bar charts, pie charts, line charts, etc. Remember that graphical representations in papers should support, not replace the text. Raw data and spreadsheets should be converted to a form that has meaning for the reader. 
Examples of datasets include temperature and/or precipitation records, pollutant levels, flood stage, animal sightings, biodiversity indices, baseline water stress indices, waste generation rates, waste diversion rates etc. Good sources include, but are not limited to, government agencies such as the city websites, U.S. Census Bureau, U.S. EPA, state level environmental agencies, USGS, NOAA, NASA, CalRecycle, AQMD, the U.N., and the World Bank. Remember original data collection must be done in a COVID-safe manner  – if you choose to collect your own primary data explain your safety plan.
