The research paper must be a minimum of 10 pages and include the following:
Introduction                Background or introduction section provides a description of the basic facts and importance of the research area – What is your research area, the motivation of research, and how important is it to you.
 
Problem Statement     Problem statement provides a clear and concise description of the issues that need to be addressed – What is the specific problem in that research area that you will address (e.g. lack of understanding of a subject, low performance …)?  Objectives provide a list of goals that will be achieved through the proposed research – What are the benefits/impact (e.g. better understanding, improved productivity …) that will be generated if the research problem is answered?  What is your thesis statement?
 
                                    Steps to writing your thesis statement:
 

Choose a specific topic. Narrow the subject matter prior to drafting a thesis statement.  Decide what specific aspect of the subject matter the essay will focus on.  What are the advantages of the topic and what are the disadvantages of the topic?
Select related questions.  Determine what questions you want to investigate for your essay.  Use the information to form a specific question that ensure that it is clearly related to your topic of discussion. 
Answer the question(s). Express your ideas about the answer to the question in the form of a statement. Depending on the topic, you may need to conduct initial research before deciding how the question should be answered.
Tweak the answer you came up with for the question so that it becomes the thesis statement for your essay or paper. Be concise and engaging.
The thesis statement will provide the main point or primary argument.

 
Literature Review       Provides a summary of previous related research on the research problem and their strength and weakness and a justification of your research – What is known/what has been done by others? And, why your research is still necessary?  The thesis statement is the sentence that states the main idea of your research and helps control the ideas within the paper. 
 
Research Methodology Research methodology defines the research methods and logic steps – What to do and how to solve the problem and achieve proposed objectives? Which research methods (e.g. survey, modeling, case study …) will be used?
 
Analysis                      An analysis is a detailed examination of a topic. It involves performing research and separating results into smaller, logical topics to form reasonable conclusions. It presents a specific argument about the topic and supports that argument with evidence. You can perform an analysis to find different solutions to a challenge in a variety of situations.
 
Conclusion                   Writing a conclusion for your research paper can be difficult. Concluding paragraphs should be clear and sum up what you have presented in your research without sounding redundant. An effective concluding paragraph can also add impact to what you have presented in your paper.   Including a conclusion in your research paper can be important to remind your readers of the strength and impact of your argument. Concluding statements in your paper can also help to refocus the reader’s attention to the most important points and supporting evidence of your arguments or position that you presented in your research. Conclusions can also serve as a basis for continuing research, creating new ideas to resolve an issue you highlighted in your paper or offering new approaches to a topic.
 
References                  A reference list is a list of the publication information for the sources you’ve cited in your paper and is intended to give your readers all the information they need to find those sources. In other publication styles, this list may be called a bibliography, or a works cited page, but APA uses the term reference list.  You must have a minimum of 5 professional references with a date of publication no later than five years old (2016-2021).
