Reflecting on Capstone Project and Career Aspirations
As you finish your capstone projects, now is a good time to reflect on your project, your program, and your future in the field of forensic psychology. This may seem like a lot, but it can be helpful to look at how far you have come. Also, you can think about what you learned and what skills you developed in this course as well as the rest of your program, which will be integral in your future. For example, how will you use the research you learned in this course? Will you be a researcher and continue to work on this topic, or will you train different audiences on a topic you become an expert in? Either way, this week is a time to reflect on where you have come from and where you are headed.

This week, you will be asked to reflect on two different areas. First, you will consider your topic. What did you learn? Specifically, you will consider the deeper meaning of the literature review topic you examined and what might be needed in the future on this topic? Where are the gaps in research and training? How might you be an impetus for this, or what do you think are barriers to implementing your solutions currently? You will have the opportunity to evaluate that this week.

You will also be asked to consider your own career goals and aspirations. Specifically, you will want to consider how you will apply what you have learned into your career as a forensic psychologist. Will this topic be integral to your practice? Will you continue research in this area? Do you need more education to truly make an impact in the field related to your topic? This is your opportunity to consider how a topic you have researched applies to the real world.

 
This week, you will prepare a 2 to 4-minute Kaltura video reflecting on the following:

Future research needed regarding your topic, and
Career goals and plans for applying what you have learned regarding your topic as a future forensic practitioner.
