Synthsio Case Study Proposal

In the Case Study Proposal, you will outline a market research project about a

technology, type of technologies, or tech trend of your choice. Note that your

proposal must focus on using Synthesio as your social listening and analytics

tool.

• Formatting

o This assignment should be completed in an outline form. Use 12-point font

and 1-inch margins. Include your name(s) in the header. Each bullet should

include no more than 2-3 sentences of text. Make your text single-spaced but

leave space between each bullet. Maximum of one page.

• Research Objective

o Explain your case study choice. Why is it an interesting innovation or

phenomenon to study?

o Your proposed case choice can be well-known or unknown. It can be

popular today or have perished already. However, you must research a

technology or platform (e.g., Hinge) that can feasibly be evaluated through

Synthesio.

o Defend your choice from society and industry perspectives. Make sure to

label each accordingly – note these perspectives should be clearly different.

§ (1) a society perspective (why is this important to society?)

§ (2) an industry perspective (why is this important to industry?)

• Data Collection

o Explain and detail your proposed social analytic plan. How would you

collect data in a way that would reveal valuable insights?

o Specify the global filters you would apply to data collection, including

choices for time period, location(s), language(s), and platform/media sources.

o Specify the EXACT query approach you would adopt, following the

Synthesio Boolean logic and syntax rules. You must specify 2+ queries (i.e.,

subtopics)

o Specify any hypotheses (what do you think the data will show?) and/or

research questions (what are you curious about exploring in the data?).
